Metal 2 The Mass Semi Final 2

M2TM Semi Final

On a hot sunny evening of May 19th at 17.30 the venue opened it doors to the Second Semi Final of this years Metal 2 The Masses Manchester 4 Bands Competing with 2 slots for the Grand Final up for grabs. One decided by the judges and one by the crowd, and then the night rounded off by the headliners.

The nights running order was as follows.

The night kicked of with Stellaris Opening on a Sunday evening at 6pm is going to be hard but these guys came on stage and gave it their all. For their whole set they had the crowd going and and for me were a joy to photograph. Have to say after the set I had a smile on my face, enjoyed it last time enjoyed it this time as well.

Next up was VLKA viking metal at its finest, the combination of the two vocal styles makes the music a joy. They even at one point got the crowed into a rowing pit, also with all the face paint they are certainly a fan favourate(mine also but shhhh i have a soft spot for viking metal). Was an amazing set.

Next up were Incarnage a band who came out at full steam they had the crowd in circle pits, walls of death and it was 30 min of good hard metal music. Playing was tight and volcals amazing. I'll be honest I really enjoyed the set.

Then came Dacara with hard hitting guitars and clean vocals was a good end to the competition. These guys are definatly the crowd favorate and had them going from start to finish. Also lots of glowsticks so whats not to like.

Now down to the headliners Dekaytah these guys hail from the North West and are rounding off a very hot and sweaty night by giving the crowd no restbite. With their hard hitting style of music. The band gave everything and even though the crowed were drained from the heat they were still giving the band everything.

This was an epic conclution to an evening of amazing music.

Now the unfortunate thing is there can only 2 bands that go though and over the last 2 Semi Finals every band that has played deserves a slot on that Stage at Bloodstock the competition has been amazing. Now here are the winners.

the Final is on the 1st June at Rebellion in Manchester.
